Job Description
The Trainee is responsible for monitoring the SAP System landscape. The responsibilities include identifying the failed updates, DB locks, failed spool requests, failed background jobs, identifying the performance bottle necks and moving transport requests in landscape. The Trainee is also responsible for the installation, upgrade and maintenance of SAP systems. A key area of responsibility is the documentation and updating of the existing SAP environment and work with IT and business units to modernize the SAP environment.
Responsibilities
Implement and maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (development, test, training, and production)
Maintain the integrity of the SAP environment by managing the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) to ensure all configuration and development objects are promoted properly
Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance
Install and configure all required SAP database servers and application servers
Manage SAP users, authorizations, and profiles
User role assignment, authorization, SOD, ID lock and un-lock, System monitoring.
Monitoring the SAP printing subsystem for all SAP instances
Monitoring SAP performance by planning and executing SAP tuning strategies
Knowledge of SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required
Participate in the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades
Apply and migrate SAP maintenance (hot packages and kernel upgrades) through all systems using a structured methodology
Develop and maintain system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces
Provide status reports for projects to management
Understand the values and vision of the organization and align the activities accordingly
Protect the Intellectual Property
Adhere to all the policies and procedures
Work with other line functions to collect or provide relevant data
Able to work on the platforms like AIX/HP-UX/Solaris/Linux/Windows and at least two databases Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, ASE DB, HANA
Perform OSS / SAP Service Marketplace: Searching notes & creating OSS messages for the respective queries to improve the Performance. And software download, Maintain System Data, License Key & Maintenance Certificate, Developer & object registrations, and connection maintenance
